tidE generally supports two user interface techniques:
• The traditional Mac point and select method.
• Key board short cuts for the mouse phobic.
Most of the key equivalents are documented by the menu manager including Open(0), Close(W), Save(S), Transfer(T), Quit(Q), Cut(X), Copy(C), Paste(V), Add Entry(E), Modify Description(M), Modify Dates(U), Modify Path(P), and Mark an entry for Delete/Undelete(D). [The Cut(X), Copy(C), Paste(V) and Leave Modify Description Dialog(M) keys are supported in the Modify Description dialog.]
Other key equivalents include; Command(,) bring forward the next tidE window, Command(.) cancels most dialogs, Command(I) check disk info, Command(F) find, Command(N) find next.
The arrow keys work in pairs - left/right arrow move within a single text field, up/down arrow moves from entry to entry in the File Section scrollable list.
Pressing the command key in conjunction with down arrow scrolls to the very bottom of the list.
Pressing the command key in conjunction with up arrow scrolls to the very top of the list.
Pressing the option key in conjunction with down arrow scrolls one page down in the list.
Pressing the option key in conjunction with up arrow scrolls one page up in the list.
Option-click in the close box of a tidE window will perform a Close All.
Extended keyboards (function keys) are supported (F1 = Cut, F2 = Copy, F3 = Paste, F4 = Undo, Help = tidE Online Help, Home = scrolls to the very top of the list, End = scrolls to the very bottom of the list, PageUp = scrolls one page up in the list, PageDown = scrolls one page down in the list, Del = Cut).
Double clicking a filename in the list brings up Modify Description dialog for that file.
Pressing the Command or Option key in conjunction with clicking on a filename in the list toggles the deletion of that file.
